OCTOBER 30
Encouraging Word # 304
"I would have despaired unless I had believed that I would see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Wait for the Lord, be strong and let your heart take courage. Yes, wait for the Lord."
Psalm 27:13-14
Dear Friend,
Despair and discouragement is something we wish we would not experience. Yet it is in these times that cause us to grow closer to the Lord. Things happen in our lives that are beyond our control. David had many reasons to lose hope and become discouraged. But there was something he hung on to that got him through the most difficult times of his life.
"I would have despaired unless I had believed that I would see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Wait for the Lord, be strong and let your heart take courage. Yes, wait for the Lord." (Psalm 27:13-14)
So many times in life, things do not go the way we want them to. We sometimes even think God is against us. Yet this Psalm points out that God that is not only for us but will bring something good out of our circumstances if we trust in Him.
We also wish God would solve our problem immediately, but He often doesn’t. This is because He wants our hearts to grow stronger while we wait on Him.
David understood that his hope had to be, not in himself, not in the riches of his kingdom, not in his skills and wisdom, but in God.
Our hope is not in the change of our circumstances but in God who is greater than all. Where is your hope today? Are you focusing on how bad things can become or that you will see God’s goodness towards you?

Dear Father God and Lord Jesus, Through your grace, please soften the heart of LOVEYOUTOO2's mom so that she will treat her adult child with love and understanding. I also pray that LOVEYOUTOO2 will be able to find a job and find a place of his or her own. Or perhaps this person can move in with another relative. Another option is for the person to see whether the local Salvation Army can provide temporary housing and financial assistance. In the meantime, may LOVEYOUTOO2 continue to pray daily for your divine interventions and blessings. He or she can also meditate on Psalm 32:8 for your godly guidance, "I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you." Also, may LOVEYOUTOO2 remember that you will never leave or forsake us (Deuteronomy 31:8). Let all go well. In Jesus's name, I pray.
