David#01valadez, I am praying for you. Hi,David. There is no requirements that Jesus demands before you can approach Him. He says, Come to me. Just as you are. He will receive you. You may have heard that God is love. This is true. Christ Jesus loved us so much, He died in our place on the Cross to pay the penalty for sin when we could not save ourselves. We can come boldly to the throne of Grace to find help in time of need. If you have a Bible, read the book of I John. It was written by the disciple John and describes who Jesus is, and how to deal with our sin in the first chapter! Read the Gospels, and listen to the still small voice that affirms that what you are reading is truth. Jesus is Truth. What John was especially trying to say was, know Jesus. Get to know Jesus rather than a set of rules or behaviors. Let him know you as he knows you. Nothing will shock him, and know that He has already forgiven you and nailed those sins on the cross. The sins are paid for, there is nothing to separate you from knowing the Lord now as your savior except your decision to accept His love and forgiveness. The Word of God will wash you clean every whit, and you can be established in His love to love Him completely.
