BethLauren, I am praying for you! I hope it gets fixed soon! There might be a way to get on a sliding scale if insurance takes too long or even use better help (online self pay therapy). There are other platforms also that offer medicines if you need it too. I hope it works out so he can see the current one, but don’t be afraid to fill the gap in time with online therapy too. The first time I reached out for counseling it took them 6 months to get me in. I suffered for that whole time and wish I had just found someone else to fill the gap. Then I ended up not even working out with the counselor once they got me in after 6 months, I knew by 3 sessions I needed a new one already. I’m on my 4th one just recently trying to get over all this getting cheated on and some past traumas it ripped back open. I know how arduous therapy can already be even when the system IS working. I am praying for your son and the insurance and the counselor and you and your husband. Life has that ripple effect where one thing affects many others. May the Lord offer mercy and hope and peace where there is pain and struggle and frustration. Amen!
