Dear Father God and Lord Jesus, Through your grace and mercy, please heal Michael's relationship with his dear girlfriend and restore the love and trust between them. I also pray that you will help Michael to overcome his addiction. Please lead him to the right rehab facility. Maybe the Salvation Army in his community has a rehab program and faith-based services for those who have addiction challenges. More importantly, I pray that Michael and his girlfriend will search for you, Lord Jesus, and ask you, if they haven't been saved or born again, for your precious gift of salvation. To be saved, Michael and his girlfriend will need to confess that they are sinners to you Lord Jesus, have faith in you and in the gospel. Let them ask you to become their Lord and Savior and be willing to be one of your followers and repent of their sins. (Obviously, we struggle with sins, including addictions because of our sinful nature. )Once they have been saved or born again, the Holy Spirit will live within them and guide them as they transform into new creations in Christ. The Holy Spirit helps us with self-control, convicts us of sin, and so much more. Gradually, we will sin less and less because we will have a strong desire to please you, Lord Jesus, and Father God. The Holy Spirit helps us with this. If Michael and his girlfriend want to know more about salvation or being born again, they can talk to a pastor at a Bible-teaching church. In the meantime, they can go to gotquestions.org and look up, "Why I need to be Saved?" "How can I be Saved?" and "When and How do we receive the Holy Spirit?" I hope this helps.
