cassandrajoelle, may the doctors find a solution to this ailment. I had a similar problem and still do from time to time. I really thought I might have to have some sort of surgery. Wild as it sounds (because the pain was very intense) it was the toothpaste I was using. After changing to a very simple one (not for sensitive teeth - oddly enough) in about a week the pain subsided. Also, I work to gently remind myself not to clinch my jaws.
