I can get lost in the poetic rhythm of this psalm. The psalmist is extolling God’s creation with beautiful word pictures. I can readily imagine the mythical beast Leviathan—elsewhere in scripture painted as a creature of chaos and evil—frolicking like a puppy within the great sea.

God, your creation is marvelous and wonderful. I love to delight in it—in the animals, the sunsets, and fellow humans—and in you, most especially, my God and my Creator. Amen.
