August 5: Crumbs
1. Do you enjoy watching birds and other wildlife? Why or why not? What do you learn about God from observing nature and animals?
2. Have you ever witnessed an animal or a person taking what was intended for others? What happened? How did you 
respond?
3. Why do you think we tend to feel that certain things are only meant for some people? What scripture stories remind you of the value of showing compassion and generosity to all?
4. What does it mean to you that God’s grace is not just for a chosen few? Do you find it comforting or challenging to know that God’s grace is for everyone who believes?
5. How do you spread the good news to others? What helps you remain open to sharing the good news with all who cross your path?

August 12: Leaving the Familiar
1. Why do you think Peter decided to go fishing after Jesus’ resurrection? What do you think you would have done in that situation?
2. Why do you think we often retreat to what is familiar when we are facing an unclear future? Do you think it is okay to do this? Why or why not?
3. What is one familiar place you often go to or habit that you fall into when you feel confused or stuck? Why this place or habit in those moments?
4. Recall a time when you felt called to embark on a new journey and put off your old self. Did you find that easy or difficult to do? What did it look like to put off your old self?
5. How does your faith community strengthen and encourage you to continue stepping out in faith and living with purpose for God’s kingdom?

August 19: Preventive Maintenance
1. When have you witnessed how “downtime” can cause inconvenience or disruption? Would preventive maintenance have potentially prevented that downtime?
2. In what areas of your life do you do preventive maintenance? How does it help you avoid bigger issues?
3. In what ways does having a strong relationship with God make it easier to accept God’s comfort and wisdom when challenges arise?
4. Do you tend to lean into your relationship with God when things are going well or do you often wait until you are already in a crisis? Why? What helps you turn to God in all circumstances?
5. How do you intentionally shape your relationship with God? What differences do you notice when you take time to invest in your faith and your connection to God?

August 26: Encouraging the Encouragers
1. Who in your community is an encourager? In what ways do they usually encourage and connect with others?
2. When have you realized that someone who seemed to be happy and doing well was actually struggling? What did you do for them in that moment?
3. Have you ever felt like you didn’t belong in your faith community? Why or why not? What helps you to feel like you are truly part of a community of believers?
4. Why do you think it can be easy for us to forget to encourage the encouragers in our lives? Name some specific ways you will encourage the encouragers in your community in the coming weeks.
5. How do you remain open to God’s call to encourage others? Who is God calling you to encourage today?
